Terms of use

Tonaut is made by Coast Creative and sold as a one-time purchase through Apple's App Store. Buying it gives you a personal licence to use it. That is most of it, but here is the rest.

What you get

A non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Tonaut on the iPhones you own or control, under the terms of your Apple Account, for as long as you keep the app. There is no subscription and no expiry. You do not own the app itself; you own the right to use it.

Your music is yours

Anything you make with Tonaut belongs to you. Record it, release it, sell it, sample it, put it in a film — you owe nothing and you do not need permission. Coast Creative claims no rights in anything you make, and makes no claim on the recordings, patches, kits or samples you create or import.

What you agree not to do

• Copy, resell, rent or redistribute the app itself.
• Take it apart, decompile it, or try to derive its source code, except where the law says you may regardless of what this document says.
• Strip out or work around anything that identifies it, or pass it off as your own product.
• Import material into it that you do not have the right to use.

Buying, refunds and updates

The purchase happens entirely between you and Apple, under Apple's own terms. Coast Creative does not process the payment and cannot issue a refund — if you want one, ask Apple through Report a Problem or your purchase history, and Apple will apply its own policy.

Updates are included while Tonaut is on sale, but nothing here promises that any particular feature will be built, kept, or arrive by any particular date. If a feature has to be removed — because iOS changes, or because it stops working properly — it will be said plainly in the release notes rather than quietly dropped.

Requirements

Tonaut needs an iPhone running iOS 26 or later and runs in landscape only. Screen sizes it supports are listed on the support page. It is not sold as compatible with anything else, and it is not an iPad app.

Back up your work

Your reels live in the app's own storage on your phone. Deleting Tonaut deletes them. Use the export to get audio out of anything you care about, and keep a copy somewhere else. Coast Creative cannot recover work that is gone. iCloud sync is a copy, not a backup: the copy lives in your own iCloud under Apple's terms, Coast Creative cannot reach it, cannot restore it and is not responsible for it, and a reel you delete is deleted from the copy too.

No warranty beyond what the law gives you

Tonaut is provided as it is. It has been tested on real devices and it is meant to work, but no software is promised to be free of faults, and nothing here is a guarantee that it will suit a particular purpose or never interrupt you. Where consumer law in your country gives you rights that cannot be signed away, you keep them in full — nothing on this page takes them from you.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Coast Creative is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using the app, and any liability that does arise is limited to what you paid for it. Again, this does not affect rights your local consumer law gives you.

Apple

Apple is not a party to this agreement and has no obligation to support the app. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim about the app — including product liability, a failure to meet legal requirements, or a claim under consumer protection law — is directed to Coast Creative and not to Apple. Apple, iPhone, iOS and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Tonaut is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple.

Changes

These terms can change when the app does. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised version; if you do not, stop using it and ask Apple about a refund.
